Merrylands Swimmers had a fantastic meet at the Speedo Sprint Series Heats held at Blacktown on February 5th, 2017.
Merrylands was represented by a team of 14 swimmers who swam in 47 events. This was our largest team at this event since 2003.
The temperature certainly was hot but didn’t stop our swimmers from heating up the pool with some wonderful results. Our team swam 30 new personal best times, which is an incredible achievement, especially as many had already PB’d yesterday during our 50m Freestyle Championship. For some of our swimmers it was their first time competing at this meet and they overcame their nerves to achieve some great results.
Dyana Crabb qualified for the Speedo Sprint Series Finals in two events – the 50m Butterfly and 50m Breaststroke – and PB’d in both on the way!
