Merrylands' swimmers won 15 medals at the Wentworthville Invitational Carnival on Sunday, 5th April.

Hayley Baker and Isaac Adamson both won their first ever medals at the meet. Both swimmers won their medals in the 7yrs & Under 25m Backstroke with Hayley winning the Silver Medal in the girls event and Isaac the Bronze in the boys event.

Brittany Johnson won eight medals at the meet, seven of them gold, but more importantly, she also swam 5 new personal best times. In particular Brittany went under 30 seconds in her 50m Freestyle and under 1:04.00 in her 100m Freestyle, both for the first time.

In the 16yrs & Over events, Peter Johnston won the Gold medal in the 50m Breaststroke while Steven Nguyen won the Gold in the 50m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly. Peter also won the Gold medal in the Open 100m Breaststroke.

In the last event of the meet, our Open 4x50m Freestyle Relay Team of Peter, Jacqueline Gardner, Brittany and Steven swam to the Gold Medal in a new record time.

Our other swimmers at the meet also swam well, with a number of new personal best times swum.
