Dyana Crabb became the club's first finalist since 2002, at the NSW State Age Championships last week.

Dyana, along with Reece Tomkinson and Kayla Hine, represented the club at the Championships, which were held at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre from Friday, 9th to Saturday 17th December.

Dyana swam a new personal best time in the 200m Butterfly, taking over 8 seconds off her time, to finish in 8th place in 2:57.36. She also swam 3 more personal best times at the meet. In her first event, the 200m Individual Medley, Dyana swam a new 50m Butterfly PB in the first lap of the race, breaking 36 seconds for the first time when she turned in 35.95. In the 100m Butterfly, Dyana broke her 50m PB again, as she turned in 35.87 and then equalled her personal best time for the 100m, finishing in 1:19.27.

Reece swam 2 new personal best times at the meet, breaking his times in the 200m Backstroke, and 50m Freestyle. These were excellent swims considering his lack of training due to a fractured elbow, while Kayla Hine swam a season best time in the 100m Breaststroke.

The last time the club had a finalist at the State Championships was at the 2002 New South Wales State Age Short Course Championships. Congratulations to Dyana, Reece and Kayla on their results.
