About Merrylands Amateur Swimming Club
The
Merrylands Swimming Centre was opened in 1968 and the Merrylands
Amateur Swimming Club was formed in the same year.
The Merrylands Amateur Swimming Club is the second largest swimming club in the
City of Cumberland and the 8th
largest swimming club in the South Western Area of the Sydney Metropolitan Area (
Metro South West). Last
summer the club had over 150 members registered.
The club caters for swimmers of all ages and abilities from beginners
to champions in a fun, family orientated atmosphere from the Merrylands,
Greystanes, Wentworthville, Holroyd, South Wentworthville, Mays Hill, Westmead, Merrylands West, Smithfield, Woodpark, Pendle Hill, Parramatta, Girraween, Toongabbie,
Prospect and Pemulwuy communities and surrounding areas.
The club meets at Merrylands Swimming Centre on Saturday mornings from
7:00am to 9:00am during the summer season (October 1 to March 31).
Learn to Swim lessons are run from October to December for members on Saturday mornings. The Club also appoints a qualified swimming
coach to run
Coaching sessions for members. Coaching sessions are run throughout the year.
Club Members regularly compete at Inter-Club, Area, State and National swimming meets, Open Water swims and Ocean Swims.

Affiliation
Merrylands A.S.C. is affliated with Swimming Metro South West (formerly Cumberland Amateur Swimming Association), Swimming NSW and Swimming Australia and is
part of the Metropolitan Area of New South Wales. The club is also affiliated with Masters Swimming NSW and Masters Swimming Australia.
