Technical Officials

Technical Officials officiate at swimming meets conducted by Clubs, Areas, State and National Bodies. A typical swimming meet needs a lot of officials – at least 40 in an eight lane pool.

Being an official is an excellent way of supporting the swimmers and it also has some fringe benefits!
Officials have one of the best seats in the house and officials at Area, State and National meets may also receive an official's shirt.
If you volunteer before the meet and get your name on the roster, you will normally have free pool entry. You will receive a complimentary program, and lunch and snacks are usually provided at full day meets.

The Metro South West Area Technical Swimming Committee (ATSC) conducts a comprehensive course of lectures in all technical aspects of swimming and new officials are always needed. Members of the ATSC travel to the clubs in our Area when requested to conduct courses and to provide advice and answer questions on any technical issues.
