Merrylands Amateur Swimming Club – 50th Anniversary
We hope you enjoyed the 50 Cup Cake day last Saturday. Over the coming weeks we are holding a Lolly Guessing Competition. 50c for a guess and you can have as many guesses as you like. See Margaret to have your guess. To the winner go the spoils (and the sugar hit).
MSW Qualifying Meet
Congratulations to Michael Evans, Reece Tomkinson & Alison Sakurovs who all swam at the MSW qualifying meet last Sunday. PB’s galore were swum, so a fantastic effort by the swimmers and coach.
Merrylands SwimFest Meet – Today
Today we are hosting the Merrylands SwimFest with 236 swimmers representing 34 clubs, with 30 swimmers from our club participating. We will be setting up after club races and squad training today, so if you can stay and help that would be greatly appreciated. Final set up will commence from 12.30pm, with warm-up for swimmers at 1.30pm (all of our swimmers should be stretching and in swimming costumes prior to warm-up commencing) and races commencing at 2.30pm.
If you haven’t yet confirmed you are able to assist during the meet please see Graham or Margaret this morning. Good luck to all of our swimmers and thank you to everyone who is helping out on the day.

Hosting Duties – MSW 5 – 8 Year Meet - Saturday 3rd March, 2018
We are rostered to provide hosting duties at the Metro South West 5 – 8 Years Meet on Saturday 3rd March, 2018. This is an afternoon meet held locally at Guildford Pool. Our duties include helping with gate entry, result posting, presentation of medals & ribbons etc. We need about 4 or 5 helpers on the day, so if you can help please let Graham know.
Whales Picnic – Sunday 11th March, 2018
The Whales Picnic is being held at Blaxland Riverside Park, Jamieson Street, Sydney Olympic Park (off Holker Street, Silverwater) on Sunday 11th March, 2018 (11.00am – 4.30pm).
Trophy Return
Please return any perpetual trophy’s you have from last season on a Saturday morning to the club room (you have 4 more weeks left to do this).
Beer, Burgers and Bowls
Have some spare time tomorrow? Club Merrylands has the Beer, Burgers and Bowls activity on at Guildford Bowling Club from 11.00am. No need to book just roll up (that’s a bowls gag)
Race Starting Time and Entries
With championships underway and running until the end of the season it is important that we start on time at 7.00am. So to make sure you don’t miss your race, arrive before 7.00am and be ready when called at marshalling.
Remember to also get your race entries in on time (it eases the load on the Race Committee)
