Merrylands finished the NSW State Masters Short Course Championships, held at the Peninsula Leisure Centre this weekend, with State Champions in eleven events, and three new state records.

Steven Nguyen won all five of his events in the 18-24yrs Age Group, taking home gold in the 25m Freestyle, 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle, 200m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly. Steven also set a new NSW record in the 25m Freestyle.

Brittany Johnson competed in two events at the Championships, winning gold in both the 100m Butterfly and 200m Breaststroke in the 18-24yrs Age Group. Both of Brittany's swims were not only completed in new personal best times, she also set two new NSW records on the way to victory.

Peter Johnston competed in five events in the 30-34yrs Age Group. He won gold in the 25m Breaststroke, 50m Breaststroke, 100m Breaststroke and 200m Breaststroke, and was the bronze medallist in the 50m Freestyle.
