Today was an historic day at Merrylands Swimming Centre as the first ever winter season kicked off.
With the Competition and Training pools now heated, the new winter season began in 27° water and
brilliant sunshine.
The inaugural winter season features three new events not run during the summer season. The first of
these events, the Mystery Medley, was run for the first time today and proved very popular with the
swimmers. The other new events that will be run are the 800m and 1500m Freestyle, which will be run
as part of the Graded Pointscore.
The new season will run until the pool closes on May 16th.
