Hayley Baker and Lachlan Stewart were both presented with the Graded Pointscore Trophies at the club's Annual Presentation Evening tonight.

This year was the second in a row that Lachlan has taken home the award, while Hayley won the competition for the first time.

In a close finish, Steven Nguyen won the Senior Handicap for the second year in a row, just ahead of Ian Wilson and Peter Johnston.

Brittany Johnson was presented with the Champion of Champions Award for a record breaking 6th time. Brittany won the Senior and Open Womens Championships, breaking 16 club championship records along the way and also represented the club at the Area, Metropolitan and State Open Championships. This was the first year that Brittany had qualified for the State Open Championships.
Brittany was also the first recipient of the Masters Aerobic Trophy.

Carl Sorensen was presented with The Jack Smart Encouragement Award after steadily improving over the season. In another first, the Relay Competition title was won by a new team, "Joint Venture" (Mitchell Burt, Anthony Ventra, Amber Johnson, Steven Nguyen, Brittany Johnson, Peter Johnston) at their first attempt. The team was a merger of "The Swimmers" and "To Be Advised" from last year's competition and the combination proved hard to beat. Ian Wilson was presented with the Lions Club Award for his volunteer work throughout the season while Dylan Baker was presented with the Learn to Swim Volunteer of the Year Award for his contribution to the Learn to Swim Program.

In our Winter Season Philo Farid and Hayley Baker won the Graded Pointscore competitions for the first time.

Five awards were presented to members of Merrylands Swimming Squad for their efforts at Swimming Training throughout the season. All swimmers were deserved recipients of the Coach's Awards with Wesley Latukefu, Hayley Baker, Jacob Killick, Brittany Johnson and Ian Wilson all taking home a club beanie.

The night was very enjoyable and those people that stayed after the presentation had a good time.

Thank you to all the people who helped organise the presentation and who helped throughout the season. Thank you also to the club's first President, Jim Earl, and his son Tony, who were special guests.

You can find the season results in the Club Races section and the full list of other awards presented on the night in the Presentation section.
