MSW 5 – 8 Years Development Meet
Congratulations to Joseph Assi, Abraham El-Chami, Pare Nader, Lisa Shrestha, Unish Shrestha & Daniel Vicic who all competed in the MSW 5 – 8 Years Development Meet last Saturday. They swam 17 PB’s out of 18 swims, what a wonderful effort by you all. Thank you to Margaret Edwards, Kylee Murray, Leanne & Emily Tovkach who volunteered and undertook our hosting duties at the meet.
Club Photo – Today
We will be taking our club photo today after club races. We would like to see everyone join in the photo on the day.
Whales Picnic – Tomorrow
The Whales Picnic is being held at Blaxland Riverside Park, Jamieson Street, Sydney Olympic Park (off Holker Street, Silverwater) tomorrow (11.00am – 4.30pm). Look for the Merrylands gazebo.
Trophy Return
Please return any perpetual trophy’s you have from last season on a Saturday morning to the club room (you have 2 more weeks left to do this).
Merrylands Money
If you have Merrylands Money from last season don’t forget to spend it before the end of this season. You have 2 weeks left and you can use it to purchase race cards or club uniforms.
Easter Raffle – Saturday 24th March, 2018
To celebrate the end of the season we will be holding an Easter Raffle with the winner drawn on Saturday 24th March, 2018. To provide prizes for the raffle we are seeking donations of Easter eggs so that we can provide a number of hamper prizes. We ask that over the next 2 weeks you bring Easter egg donations for the hamper prizes.
Merrylands Amateur Swimming Club – 50th Anniversary
The Lolly Guessing Competition competition continues, with lots of guesses so far. 50c for a guess and you can have as many guesses as you like. See Margaret to have your guess.
Annual Presentation & AGM
We are working to obtain a date for the Annual Presentation, which we hope to hold on a Saturday night at the end of May or early June, depending on venue availability.
The Club’s AGM will be held on the following Monday night. We will publicise the dates of these as soon as we have them locked in. There are some important dates for nominations for committee positions and awards and these are:
- Service Excellence Award – close 31 March, 2018
- Life Member nomination – 60 days before the AGM
- Committee nomination – 30 days before the AGM

Uniforms
We are taking orders for winter clothing items such as long coats & hoodies, so if you would like to order a coat please see Margaret, as an order will be placed at the end of March.

Winter Squad Training
We will have lane space at Granville pool during the winter months for squad training. The coach will communicate with squad members to determine squad training days and session times.
Learn To Swim
The current 6 week LTS program finishes today. We hope all of our participants have enjoyed the lessons and learnt some valuable water skills. Thank you to our Instructors and Helpers who have volunteered their time to provide these lessons.
