I hope you have enjoyed a very Merry Christmas and a great start to the 2018 New Year. Believe it or not we have only 12 weeks of swimming left after today.
Need inspiration for a great New Year’s resolution that you can actually stick to? How about submitting your Race Entries on time and correctly. Cards are due in the box by 6pm Wednesday and Online Entries close 8pm Thursday.
Too hard to remember during the week? Complete your entries on Saturday mornings straight after club races.
Too busy to get them done on time? Guess what! Contrary to popular belief the Competition Committee DO have a life outside of swimming too. Make 2018 great for all – get those entries in on time!
Speedo Sprint Heats
Looking for a fun, friendly and fast paced activity this summer? Come and take part in the 2018 Speedo Sprint Series.
The Speedo Sprint Series caters for girls and boys aged between 8-13 years in 50m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke, 50 m Backstroke and 50m Butterfly events and is a great way to have fun and learn new skills in a friendly environment.
Due to its timing, the meet, along with the Merrylands SwimFest, also provides good practice for School Swimming Carnivals. All club members aged from 8 to 13 are encouraged to enter.
This year's meet will be held on Sunday, 11th February, 2018 at Blacktown Aquatic Centre (races start at 1.00pm). Online entries close on Tuesday 30th January, 2018.
If you have not attended a meet before and would like some more information or help on entering, just ask one of the Club Committee Members.
February 2018 Important Dates
February 2018 sees our club holding two important swim meets, the Masters BPS on Saturday 10th February 2018 (entries close 2nd February 2018) and Merrylands SwimFest on Saturday 24th February 2018 (entries close 10th February 2018). We look forward to all of our club members participating in and assisting with these meets.

Beers Burgers & Bowls
Sunday 31st December, 2017 saw a total of 10 members of our club and families attend the first Beers Burgers & Bowls event held by Club Merrylands. A great time was enjoyed by everyone with some bowls stars unearthed.
Club Merrylands will be holding this event on the last Sunday of every month in 2018 at Guildford Bowling Club, so why not come down and enjoy a few relaxing hours. Cost is $12, which includes a burger for lunch, drink voucher and bowls. No need to book just turn up, the fun commences at 11.00am.
