Whales Challenge #3
Today is the day the two teams face off for pool supremacy in 2024. With both the Maroon & White teams having won a challenge each, this challenge will decide the team taking the honours.
Good luck to everyone swimming, remember to wear your team colour cap for all of your races.
MSW 5 – 8 Years Development Meet
The Metro South West 5 – 8 Year Development Meet was held last Saturday afternoon.
Congratulations to Lily Palise who swam in 3 events at the meet. Lily had a great afternoon, with a 2nd place in the 50m Backstroke (5 seconds faster than her entry time) as well as a 4th place finish in the 50m Freestyle (5 seconds faster than her entry time) and 7th in the 50m Breaststroke
SNSW State Open Championships
Leo Zhu qualified for and competed in the NSW State Open Championships on Friday.
Leo swam in the 50m Breaststroke and finished in his second-fastest time ever. Well done Leo!
Merrylands Pool Open in April
Great news, Cumberland Council will keep Merrylands Pool open until the end of April this year.
This means squad training will remain at Merrylands for the month, before moving to another pool.
The Committee is also considering holding a short four-week club race season on the Saturday mornings in April. Stay tuned for more information.
Return Championship Trophies
With only next week left for this season’s club races we ask that you return any Championship Perpetual trophies you have at home. They can be returned to the club room next Saturday morning or on a squad training day.
End of Season Next Week
With Easter at the end of March this year, our summer season comes to an end next Saturday morning. Join us for the last week of club races and a BBQ breakfast to conclude the season.
Annual Presentation 2024
The Annual Presentation will be held at Club Merrylands on Saturday 1st June 2024, commencing at 6.30pm. Keep an eye for more information about this and the date for the AGM.

Anzac Day 2024
Join our club participation in the Cumberland Anzac Day Dawn Service this year.
The service will be held from 5.30am at Charles Mance Reserve, Newman Street, Merrylands and commences with a march from the Merrylands RSL Club in Miller Street, Merrylands at 5.15am.
