Win a spot in the NSW ANZ Talent Pool 8th January, 2007

ANZ, as a partner of the 12th FINA World Championships, is offering children aged between 8 and 12 years old the opportunity to win a place in the ANZ Talent Pool.

The Talent Pool is a series of junior aquatic clinics, hosted by ANZ, and being held across Australia in the lead up to the Championships, which take place in Melbourne in March 2007.

The first ANZ Talent Pool will be held at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, from 9am on Saturday 27 January 2007, and will feature the ANZ All Stars inlcuding former world swimming champion, Giaan Rooney, and vice-captain of the Australian men’s water polo team, Trent Franklin.

Designed to give children the opportunity to have their very own World Championship experience, the Talent Pools offer a glimpse of the five aquatic disciplines of the World Championships - Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Open Water Swimming.

On the day, children will have the chance to chat to Rooney and Franklin about their World Championship experiences, and will take part in 30 minute sessions for each discipline, all under the watchful eye of accredited coaches.

By the end of the Talent Pool, children will have been introduced to the finer points of take-offs and diving techniques, dolphin wiggles and swim breathing, synchro kicks and basic body position and will receive a master class in Water Polo.
