Coaching Staff
All of our coaches hold Swimming Australia/Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Assocication qualifications. All of our coaches are also current or
former swimmers and have all swum at State level or higher in the past.
Peter Johnston
Head Coach
Bronze Licence Coach, Masters Level 1M Coach, Open Water Coach, Swim Australia Teacher
Peter coaches the Novice, Masters and Adult Squads and oversees the entire Squad Program for the Club,
which also includes coaching or supervising the other squads in the program. Peter has been a coach of the Metro South West Area Squads in the past.
Peter has been coaching since 1994, and the club's Head Coach since 2005. In 2013 and 2017, Peter was named as both the NSW and Australian Masters Coach of the Year, and the ASCTA Masters Coach of the Year.
Alison Johnston
Development Coach
Bronze Licence Coach, Masters Club Coach
Alison coaches the Junior, Development, Age and Senior Squads and has been a Learn to Swim Teacher for the Club. Alison also coaches sessions of the Novice and Masters/Adult Squads.
Alison has swum competitively since the age of 5. She has represented the club at the NSW Metropolitan Championships, NSW State Open Championships,
State and National Masters Championships and FINA World Masters Championships.
Alison has been coaching since 2015.
Katie Hope
Teacher of Competitive Swimming
Katie is a former competitive swimmer and holds a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science from The University of Technology Sydney. Katie coaches the Adults & Teen Fitness Squads and assists with coaching
the other squads in our program.
