Pool Depth Information

The water depth at Merrylands Swimming Centre is 2 metres at the Deep End/Start End (western end) and 1.07 metres at the Shallow End/Turn End (eastern end).

All competitors – please ensure you enter the water appropriately.

Suggested Safe Water Entry Technique

Based on the Royal Life Saving Guidelines for Safe Pool Operation Guideline SU22 Merrylands Swimming Centre suggests the following entry methods:

Deep End (Western End): Competitive Dive Start Permissible
Shallow End (Eastern End): Competitive Dive Start Permissible (for trained swimmers)

This is consistent with the Swimming Australia Dive Entry for Competitive Swimming Policy.
